Busy-Bee Kinetic Type process
Step 1: Identification
Ideas for the project began with looking at Kinetic type, and sketching out a few ideas. One piece of Kinetic Type stood out as the strongest source of inspiration, "Dot Dot Dot," by Rice Pirate.
Step 2: Style Framing
After the sketch frames, I sat down to put together a style frame; the look of the video with known elements, such as motion blur, the dog, the bee, and the typeface. I wanted a cool pastel color to even out the tension of the sound file.
Step 3: Storyboard
The storyboard let me plot out actions and scenes. Most importantly the composition of the type, which was reworked in the final product. The color changing background was also supposed to reflect the mood, but was ultimately to distracting, and was kept the standard sky blue.
